Hunters will find that Citrus County offers a variety of game animals through three public access Wildlife Management Areas. The county's wild deer population is controlled by harvesting during a controlled hunting season, and game animals including wild boar, beaver, coyote, rabbit and squirrel abound. Resident and migratory birds including turkeys, ducks, and quail, also provide much action.
