Bingo, Casinos, Etc.

Bingo is played at various locations throughout Citrus County; times and locations are regularly listed in the newspaper. To the south, one of the state's largest bingo halls is located at Tampa's Hard Rock Casino.

For casino action including slots and table games, Tampa's Seminole Hardrock Casino is the area's largest land-based Indian casino. On both sides of the state, casino boats feature a variety of slot, video poker, and table poker action.

Across the state, the world's largest casino ship, the Sterling, sails twice a day from Port Canaveral, an approximate 2-1/2 hour drive from Citrus County via Florida's highway system.

On this coast, a smaller boat, the Suncruz Casino, based out of Port Richey, is less than an hour's drive south on Highway 19. A bus provides free shuttle service during the week from various pick-up points in Citrus County.

Tampa features both a horse track and a dog track and Jai-Alai is available as close as Ocala.
