6) Abundant water
supply
While
much of Florida suffers from near critical water shortages,
Citrus County is in the enviable position of being on top of
the Ocala Aquifer, a virtually inexhaustible underground water
supply.
To understand the
magnitude of this water supply, consider that just four
springs, located at Homosassa, Crystal River, Chassahowitzka
and Weeki Wachee, have an average flow of 1 billion gallons of
clear pure water per day! As more and more people move to
Florida, it is important to know which areas have a sufficient
supply of fresh water!
